This is a full-time, on-site position.

 

 

Job Summary :

 

The Commercial Performance Manager is the second-in-command of the U.S. subsidiary of Vranken-Pommery America. In a lean structure of 7-10 employees, this role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and versatile professional who can manage multiple responsibilities across operations, finance, logistics, compliance, and administration. The Commercial Performance Manager ensures that the company runs smoothly, efficiently, and in full alignment with strategic and commercial objectives set by the CEO.

In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, the Commercial Performance Manager manages the Sales Administrative Assistant and supervises accounting functions, ensuring strong coordination and accountability across the organization.

This is a hands-on position that requires precision, adaptability, and the ability to switch seamlessly between strategic oversight and day-to-day execution.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Operations & Back-Office Management

  • Oversee and streamline all back-office operations, including logistics, inventory management, sample coordination, and expense tracking.
  • Ensure administrative processes are efficient and directly support sales and commercial objectives.
  • Manage and provide guidance to the Sales Administrative Assistant to ensure smooth workflow and effective support to the sales team.

 

2. Commercial Plan Support

  • Partner closely with the CEO and Sales Director to ensure the commercial plan is executed with discipline.
  • Provide financial and operational analysis to support decision-making, ensuring every commercial initiative aligns with profitability and brand objectives.

 

3. Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Supervise financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in collaboration with external accounting partners.
  • Manage and coordinate accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial matters.
  • Track KPIs and provide clear reporting to the CEO to support strategic planning.
  • Maintain financial discipline across all operations.

 

4. Profit & Loss (P&L) Management

  • Establish and manage P&L per state to provide clear visibility on performance.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost control

 

5. Budget & Expense Control

  • Develop and manage the annual budget in close collaboration with leadership.
  • Monitor all expenses and implement cost-optimization measures while preserving operational excellence.

 

6. Logistics & Supply Chain

  • Coordinate logistics for product importation, warehousing, and distribution across the U.S.
  • Ensure timely delivery to distributors and key accounts while managing stock levels effectively.
  • Optimize relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouses.

 

7. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure full compliance with federal and state alcohol regulations, reporting requirements, and distributor agreements.
  • Stay current with changes in laws and regulations impacting the wine & spirits industry.

 

8. Production & Inventory (Louis Pommery California & Other Local Labels)

  • Manage logistics and production planning to ensure sufficient stock availability.
  • Monitor production timelines, bottling, and delivery schedules for U.S.-based brands.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • Proven experience in operations, finance, or general management within wine, spirits, or luxury goods preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Experience managing small teams or individuals, including administrative and accounting functions.
  • Proficiency in budget management, financial reporting, and P&L oversight.
  • Knowledge of logistics, compliance, and regulatory requirements in the alcohol industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across sales, marketing, and executive functions.
  • Highly autonomous and proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and propose solutions directly to the CEO.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, able to combine operational execution with forward-looking recommendations.
  • Flexible, resourceful, and solution-oriented mindset.

 

Base Salary range: $120k-$140k

In addition to the base salary, the role includes comprehensive health insurance and participation in an annual bonus program aligned with company and individual performance.
